Cologne storm Junkyards

Cologne - first come, first crushes. 2,500 euros from the Government for scrapping, there's a rusty heap of metal - if a new car is purchased. Cologne is in the scrappage fever. For automotive recyclers they queue.
Alex (25) and his rusty Opel Vectra (Year 1994). That's 160,000 kilometers memories: first car, vacation trips with his girlfriend, the little rear-end collision at that time - now growing love for a dilapidated cart.
When money's feelings to hear. "Now the old man away," says Alex, and looks towards recycling. There, with firm Bender in Leverkusen, formed since the 14th January customers snakes. Because that was the deadline for purchase and licensing of a new car.
2,500 Euro's, when the scrapped cars to nine years or older. And at least one years admitted to the holder. In addition, a contract must exist for the purchase of a new car (with Euro 4 emission regulations). Alex wants to spend up to 15,000 euros for a VW.
Make out of old tin money - that many of us now. For Bender, the hell is going on. "Normally, I'm here scrapping 20 customers a day. Now they're 80, "groans boss Peter Bender (45).
For whether he should be happy about it, do not know the exploiter, "If now all buy a new car, I miss purchasers of spare parts." But that he earns his money mainly. Only a third of the car mass is actually pressed flat.
Motors, wheels, fenders, fittings, electrics - all Bender usually sells to customers with old cars. For the scrap he pays to the holder between 50 and a few thousand euros. Can look forward to Alex. Because that is also helping to scrapping.
